These charges may apply in addition to the asking rent before and/or during one of our tenancies:
- Holding Deposit (aka ‘Non-Returnable Booking Fee’) of up to one week’s rent – this may be payable when you agree to take a property so that we can hold it for you until you actually start your tenancy. When you take up the tenancy, the holding deposit is refunded or put towards the tenancy deposit or rent, but it is forfeit if you do not take up the tenancy, if you provide false or misleading information or if you fail a right-to-rent check.
- A tenancy deposit of up to 5 weeks' rent.
- Lost Keys – if you lose your keys you will be charged appropriately for replacement keys, typically around £15 and would not normally exceed £35, but if locks have to be changed the cost could be significantly higher.
- Payments (capped at £50 or reasonably incurred costs if higher) for the variation, assignment, novation or early termination of a tenancy.
- Payments for utilities, communication services, TV licence and Council Tax.
- Interest at 3% above Bank of England Base Rate on rent that is more than 14 days overdue.
- Other payments as permitted under the appropriate legislation, including damages.
